Picks of the Year
Anyone made any good or bad picks this year and how'd they play out for you.
At the start of the year picked tippett instead of ottens before lockout round 1. tippett had a bad round but the following week, ottens gets injured for most of the year.
Other is Hille to sandi when he was 400k. Why did almost everyone i know pick kreuzer ahead of sandi. they were like 40k apart then?
a double trade with suban and petrenko out for grimes and hooker! what a great trade. a quality backman and good cover at their lowest prices.
another double trade, griffen and tuck out for sidebottom and davenport. i thought ahead with this one. griffen is on fire now but back then he couldn't break 100. now i hav 2 good covers in the mids.
Anyone had any horrible trades or any star trades this year?
P.S. I wanted to start a topic with my 50 post. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Re: Picks of the Year
Congrats on your 50th post mystery man - put a name in your profile so we can address you properly.
Best picks - Rich, Goddard, HMac from the start.
Trades :- Houlihan > Grimes when Grimes 188K before 3rd game. Griffen > Power when Power at 400 odd K. Ziebell> Riewoldt 6 weeks ago. Cornes to Enright about 8 weeks ago would be the best.
Worst :- Traded Dawson to Hodge the week before Hodge got injured. Had no bench cover so then took Gilbee who has been ordinary since then because he is carrying an injury & now his father has passed away not sure if he will perform any better.

Re: Picks of the Year
I might of traded in motlop for houlihan (forgive me, I knew not what I was doing). Had Goddard from the very start so that was nice. Luke power at low 400's was good. Biggest waste of a trade Gumbleton out - Daniher in. Daniher had 1 score of 40 and hasn't played for the rest of the year. Big mistakes that I will learn from.

Re: Picks of the Year
haha i did hentshel for daniher - i feel ur pain mr pair!
i think alot of ppl did the houlihan to grimes trade and never loooked back.
i did griffen to dal santo - since that trade griffen hasnt missed a beat (except last week) mind u i am not unhappy with Ndal.
I did Luenberger to Sam Jacobs which could have been good...
I did kraouker in - kraouker out - ohh it upsets me to think of them

Nice picks everyone and Dav (and Kosta if your reading this) i changed my username to include part of my nickname. I'm no long the mystery man or am I....
P.S. Tony, you could of had a way better year if it wasn't for your ruckman jinx. Hard to beleive the jinx carried over to chappy. . I really feel for you.

Re: Picks of the Year
I have been happy with my trades.
Best Pick was probably Suban to Broughton when he was at 83000. Since then Broughton has got 80 or higher.
Worst was probably trading out Selwood and bringing in Richo

Re: Picks of the Year
I haven't had too many bad ones, i've had a couple of indifferent ones. There were a few that were probably best left deferred rather than doen but they weren't bad as such
Bad Starting picks
Lucas, Raines, Harvey (through injury but not a bad choice really
Not so good trades
Schammer to Muston (he didn't play to many more games but did get me the cash i needed and i still ahve more bench cover)
Houlihan to Gilbee (not tragic but didn't work out as well as i liked)
Ziebell to Ballantyne (once again a bit disappointing but not tragic, had to be done for cash)
so no massive clangers, picking up Franklin when harvey got injured started off bad but has started to come good now.
I think luck has more to do with it. haven't done any trades yet that have resulted in that player getting injured straight away (touch wood)

Re: Picks of the Year
I am with Rival- take Swan Fatcat PLEEEEAAAASSSEEE. My opponent has him... I forgot my best trade of the year by the way. Traded Skippy to M Clark in my forwards about round 4 when Skipp did his hamstring.Charman & Luenberger were out for the year for the Lions so he was only ruck left for them so thought worth a punt. Was just under 300K at the time now he is over 500K

Re: Picks of the Year
My best pick from the start was probably Sam Gilbert.
Best trade in would be Riewoldt @ $549k in round 5 - He has given me a stack of points and has never dropped below that price.
Worst pick at the start of the year is a tie between David Myers and Andrew Browne.
Worst trade was probably Rich to Muston in round 11 ( should have held rich longer)

Re: Picks of the Year
Oi you muppets Swan is my star with no GAJ, Don't tarnish me any more!
If I loose him I will be swinging from the rafters,
He wont go down as I did not trade him in, had him from the start LOL
I have cast my spell GAJ goes down and I win the comp

Re: Picks of the Year
Lucky nobody has said anything about montagna. A good secret until overtook ablett as top scorer. Then you see people jump on when he was over 600k. I was going to get him at the start of the year but chose selwood over him (not bad) but got him in round 4. I'm one of those people who didn't like GAJ cause of the pricing.
last week i had a great trade
schammer out, goodwin in. and lucky me, he scores big.
I don't beleive rich was a great pick at the start since probably everybody had him. Otten was a better pick since only like 10k of people had him in then (lucky trade in on pre season form).
I still fell for raines as i thought he could score great and he was cheap. how wrong was i for not seeing the injury prone side to him .
My non-pick of the year is broughton. Can't beleive i didn't get broughton in when he started playing again, chose cale hooker instead.
Fatcat the only bad trade you have done was trading in muston. Thats unbeleiveable in an injury riddled year for most of us.
