Not bad I would lose
Grimes, better options, Waite maybe?
Harvey, has been first tagged through NAB
Warnock, not at no.2

I agree on Grimes.
Also Brown is usually a slow starter.
Also keep an eye on Danger - he's spent time on the injury list.
I still have him in my team, but just keeping an eye on him.

Hey,
i agree with the others on grimes. grimes is pretty pricey and didn't play the full 22 last year. will play mids but a risky pick as he has an injury past.
like the mids. i reckon there are better options in the mids than harvey but if you want him for MPP then thats up to you.
sandi and warnock. warnock might let you down. hasn't played alot of senior footy and has an injury past. won't expect him to score alot either. i would only consider him as a benchie. good options around the 250 - 300k area here if you can find the cash.
forwards i like. good mix of premiums and mid pricers.
a suggestion to find some cash to upgrade warnock is to downgrade one of your 500k backs (grimes for example) to a ladson/malceski/waters. use this extra cash to upgrade warnock to a good solid mid pricer (e.g nicnat or seaby)

Mad Max Version 2
Thanks for the feedback lads, have definately taken some snippets of advice on board.
Revised team
backs : Enright - H.Shaw - Grimes - Hodge - Waite - Kennelly - Hunt
bench : Maguire - Webberly
Mids : GAJ - Goddard - Mitchell - Scully - Martin - Trengove
bench : Shuey - Barlow
Rucks : Sandi - McEvoy(I can go as high as $300,000 here) Maybe Seaby/ Leunberger or Nik Nat???
bench :Warnock - Roughhead
Forwrds : Roo - Pav - J.Brown - Hall - Zieball - Dangerfield - Rockcliff
Bench : D.Stewart - Hitchcock
I have $128,000 still in BANK
I am going to role the dice on Grimes, I know he is overpriced however I have a gut feeling he is going to have a very consistent
high scoring season, not many teams will have him & if all go's to plan not many people will be able to afford him when all want to jump on board.
Big Risk but lifes pretty boring without them.

Re: Mad Max's First Team
Grimes could pay off, but if you look at the percentages he isn't a good pick. Is up to you, certainly is someone most won't have. Nic Nat get him if you can afford will play 22 and explode into the supercoach world

Re: Mad Max's First Team
i would have said rucks is your weakness. Mcevoy definately won't play 22 games. Seaby would be my pick, less fluctuations.
I would get rid of grimes, put goddard in the backs and take a risk in the mids on someone like Boak, Ball etc. (maybe even wells if you really want to roll the dice
also remember to keep a bit of cash in hand (even after upgrading mcevoy). I like to keep about $100K to $200K in hand.

Really appreciatte the input people.
The overwheming advice has been to lose Grimes.
I have now received some good mail that he is in fact injured again,
isn't playing today @ Casey & is in some doubt for Round one.
Hence he's out.
Final draft
Backs : Goddard - Enright - H.Shaw - Hodge - Waite - Kennelly - Hunt
Bench : Maguire - Webberley
Mids : GAJ - Mitchell - Cooney - Scully - Martin - Trengove
Bench : Shuey - Barlow
Rucks : Sandi - Seaby
Bench : Warnock - J.Roughead
Forwards : Roo - Pav - J.Brown - Hall - Ziebell - Dangerfield - Rockcliff
Bench : A. Moore - D.Stewart

Re: Mad Max's First Team
Pavs a gun so a lock as captain each week. Getting waite was
a great idea. We shoudln`t have to waite long for waite to rise in
price. I`ve got him and the Pav too.

Re: Mad Max's First Team
Charlo i wouldnt put Pav as captain every week when you have GAJ in your team. Pav was kept goaless in his last NAB challenge game, so this shows that big forwards are relying on alot of goals to do well in supercoach every week, so this means he will be inconsistent and therefore GAJ will be more consistent that Pav!!!! AND score much higher than him!

Re: Mad Max's First Team
Ablett has played terribly in the Nab Cup and Nab Challlenge games scoring 79 and 61 while the pav has scored 116, 132 and 42. Who would you rather. Ablett is 200 thousnd more than pavlich.

Re: Mad Max's First Team
I would still rather Ablett, don't read much into Ablett's games this preseason as they were just keeping a caution on him and benching him alot, they don't want him to get injured before the season starts now do they!

What rubbish
Excuses, Excuses, EXCUSES. Now your just saying Geelong are resting him to keep him injury
free. Great players shouldn`t be injury prone. Your article was rubbish.

Re: Mad Max's First Team
You only get Ablett to have him captain. Why would anyone have a 750k player not to be captain. End of story

Re: Mad Max's First Team
Relax Lads
GAJ will always be skipper in my side.
Comparing Pre-Season with Real season form is not to smart.
Apart from the blooding of rookies & position experimentation going on don't forget Pav started Pre-Season 4 weeks before GAJ.
Pav is a gun however any bloke that is coming off a season average of 140 in 2009 quite simply must be captain.
Off course if you cant afford him Pav might be your man however GAJ was my first player picked.
Good Luck with your starting line ups for round one, and remember any advice on my Mad Max starting line up version 3 is most welcome
