Im not too sure which midfield rookies 2 put in, I keep changing my mind. Which team looks better

D: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waite, S. Thompson (NM), Kennelly (OR) Malceski, Hunt (Davis, Maguire)
M: Ablett, Dal, Vince, Trengrove, Martin, Jetta (Moles, M.Barlow)
R: Clark (OR) Jolly, Natanui (Roughead, Lobbe)
F: Riewoldt, Pav, Brown, Franklin, Tippett, Hall, Rockliff (Hitchcock, Podsiadly)

OR

D: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waite, S. Thompson (NM), Kennelly (OR) Malceski, Hunt (Davis, Maguire)
M: Ablett, Dal, Vince, Trengrove, Martin, Shuey (M.Banner, M.Barlow)
R: Clark (OR) Jolly, Natanui (Roughead, Lobbe)
F: Riewoldt, Pav, Brown, Franklin, Tippett, Hall, Rockliff (Hitchcock, Podsiadly)

And I also dont know who to put in malceski or kennelly.
Any suggestions about the midfield??

Midfield Rookies Empty Re: Midfield Rookies

There are so many to choose from Sobey. At this stage i am keeping it nameless and just running a price strategy. Starting with 3 "premium" rookies (Trengrove, Scully, Martin) on the field and two "cheaper" rookies on the bench (jetta, barlow, banner, bastianac, shuey, JKT).

The reason for this is it allows me to swing two changes after round two and i am not restricted by price as i already have the three most expensive rookies so if one does not perform i can always afford the next best. Here is an example of what could go wrong if you dont run this strategy.

If you have Trengrove, Martin, Jetta on the paddock and (Moles, M.Barlow) on the bench you wont be able to afford Scully if he dominates unless you have extra cash. If in the first two rounds Trengrove, Martin, SCULLY and CONNORS all dominate and Jetta, Moles and Barlow struggle you simply cannot upgrade to SCULLY and CONNORS as you cannot afford them. I hope this makes sense.

I would get the more expensive rookies to start with as you can always downgrade them to the cheaper ones after round 2 if the cheaper ones are going better.

Yeah thanx 4 that mate. I see what you mean, good point. But would it be bad to put both scully and trengrove on together coming from the same team. I rejigged my team a bit and this is what i have at the moment.

D: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, S. Thompson (NM), Malceski, Hunt, Waters (Davis, Maguire)
M: Ablett, Dal, Vince, Trengrove, Martin, Scully (Shuey, M.Barlow)
R: Clark (OR) Jolly, Natanui (Skipper, Warnock)
F: Riewoldt, Pav, Brown, Franklin, Tippett, Hall, Rockliff (Hitchcock, Podsiadly)

Not too sure if it looks as good as before, any suggestions??

From all reports Scully and Trengrove will both be playing in round 1. 1 and 2 draft picks in a struggling team i would imagine they will get game time. If not at least you have the downgrade option after round 2. If you go with say a JKT and he fails you cant do ANYTHING with him.

Your on the ball bonnie but the only issue is blowing an early trade when you may have playing rookies on the bench, but I agree better flexability early

Yeah it would be lovely to not have to burn a trade early Tony but i always factor in two trades after round 2 before prices go up. This way you get a look at the rookies and guys like Waite, Ladson, Kenelly etc and can move things around without losing money.

Might sound silly but if GAJ drops two 80's in round 1 and 2 you might consider off loading him :p

Its all about break evens Tony, After round 2 if you check the break evens of all your players you will find making two trades can save / make you heaps of cash...

yeah tony, im thinking exactly the same. Im not too sure whether 2 put in scully and tregrove together with martin and either shuey, banner or barlow on the bench. Im thinking lewis jetta will get good scores aswell, as he has pace and may be a better option then say either shuey, banner or barlow.
Any suggestions?

Too me its imperitive to have all your rookies playing rd 1 to make cash, it will come down to who gets picked on the Thursday night.

I will back the top 2 draft picks if they get a game as the Demons injuries are mounting, Jarrah and Morton to name 2.

Demons need these 2 great white hopes to instill confidence in supporters

Don't forget we have the partial lockout this year so it will make it a little easier to get some rookies who will be playing as you will be able to see sunday final teams instead of squads.
