Super Roach League 2010?

So Roachie, Are we going to enter a league next season? I reckon with the class we have on these forums we could get a division one team that would challenge all those duds at superfooty.com.au

the danger i see there is that we'll all stop passing on the best advice trying to gain an edge on each other.

haha so true. Im sure we will want to get the best out of ALL our teams though so we can be ranked as the number 1 league in Australia

Great idea Bonnie - I am keen - on the proviso we still give each other great advice. Those duds at superfooty make me laugh - like "the cunning punt" who refuses to ever pick Ablett in his team.

I used to go over to superfooty, but a bunch of those guys don't want to help, but insist on just rubbishing everyones teams!
Now I've found this site - I drop in everytime I'm looking for news/updates/info/assistance.

YES Dav that "cunning punt" is very strange as he sits on the forum all day and never gives one good bit of advice to anyone. Just carrys on about every stupid little thing possible haha! Good call mate!

Of course we will be open to everyone and anyone... we might even think about throwing together a A and B grade league... Which add the excitment of being religated or promoted

Yeah i reckon thats the way to do it Roachie, I guess it depends on how many members we (you) have come the start of next season. We might need more that two leagues. Somehow we need to work out the leagues so we make sure the best 16 players are in Div A for example. We don't need to work that out just yet but it's a good idea i think.

I'd be all over that. Maybe the divisions (reckon there could be up to 8 needed as Roachie's site gets more traffic) are based on your SC ranking from this year. Would need some way of proving it when it comes round to forming the leagues 5 months after the current season. That way, we would all be against similiar 'handicaps' golf-style, and in one move, have created a more equal draw than the AFL could even dream of!

I agree with Bluestorm that there should be a handicap. Hopefully I'll make the cut

Would it not be based on overall at all? That''s why I put my name down for div. 2 because I didn't think my 15,720 overall position would cut it. Then again my 7 posts probably don't cut it either

Pear dont count yourself out, 100 200 points is all that separates big spots. It looks like The Roach will have two divisions but what about making it interesting with cash entry and a cash prize for the winner. All entrants could pay with PAYPAL at the start of the year then the roach can pay out a prize. What do you think Roach?

Maybe $20 each winner takes all and gets $320?

What do others think? Maybe $10 for 2nd division each??

I think that would be a great idea! and for the record I am not pear, pear is one of my best friends but a bitter supercoach rival therefore the name defeater of pear. I am trying to organise a pay thing with my mates but they are not going for it. I will fight for a spot in the super roach league div. 1 don't you worry about that

This sounds like a great idea fella's Roachie is currently putting some ideas together on how we should go about it Everyones ideas have been awesome and i think this will be a hit. A cash prize sounds like a great idea to! As long as everyone else is interested of course!

Great idea Agreco. Having some money on the line always spices things up. Have to see how much everyone is willing to put in - $20 sounds fair to me. Another one is to qualify for division 1, you need to be a superroach doner. For all the info/advice Roachie gives us I think it is least we could do - even if it is only a couple of dollars, I am sure Roachie would appreciate it & remember all the money goes towards developing the site & making it even better.
