Split round - hows everyone going
Since Trade talk won't be very high this year thought we could see howe everyone is travelling this week and heading into next. Who was your star, who are you hoping gets picked next week, who are you hoping doesn't and who are you hoping has a shocker.
Score so far: 1582 (16 and captain played) vs 983 (13 played)
Please get picked: Hayden Skipworth
please don't get picked: Nathan Brown - collingwood (ememrgency for the opposition) & GAJ (not likely)
let down: Beau Muston - what was i thinking playing him instead or Rich AHHHHHH!, Dean Cox - captain and only 93 points
thank god i bought you in this week: Nick Dal Santo
not another injury: Jack Ziebell (possible broken leg)

Re: Split round - hows everyone going
Score so far: 1497 (15 and captain played) vs 997 (13 played with GAJ Capt)
Please get picked: Hayden Skipworth
please don't get picked: CHeney, Frawley, Mundy, Corey, Chappy, Sylvia and Lovett ha ha
let down: Buddy Buddy Buddy, Dean Cox - captain and only 93 points
thank god i had you: Otten, Porp, Cox I suppose, Tippet only 60 odd
not another injury: Nil
Will be tight I recon, I have factored in 300 for GAJ so am still 180 odd up, need Pav to shake a possible Ling tag, Skippy picked as have no cover (he should after tossing the coin last week and tonning up!) Bartell, Selwood and Swany to kill it and save my bacon again with no GAJ.
This win is real important because it is the SC League organiser and he will be stranded on 3 wins and unlikely to make the finals. He holds all the cash and supposed to be the SC expert! He had Roughy, Buddy and Ziebel (a collective 58 pts)

Re: Split round - hows everyone going
Score so far: 1223 (with 14 played and GAJ as skipper) versus 1110 (15 played and Swan as capt)
Please get picked: Cheney
Please don't get picked: all the Pies team
Let down: Half my forward line (Fev, Roughie and Bradshaw)
Thank god you're here: My Saints contingent (Roo, NDS and Goddard)
Injuries: Nil
Should be close. I have Pav and GAJ, while he doesn't, so hopefully they have big games. He has Swan, Shaw and Davis so I want the Pies to have a shocker.
A win will take me to 1 or 2 (depending on results) so fingers crossed.

Re: Split round - hows everyone going
Score: 1235 (15 played Capt yet to play) vs 961 (11 played capt yet to play)
Let Down: Buddy, Roughy, Ziebell
Thank God: J.Brown, Brennan (brought in for Krak)
Injured: Ziebell
Glad I traded you in: Brennan
Dpending on his outcome - may sway my trades for rnd 13-14.
The rest of my team is relying on Mids and Backs - all of my fwds and rucks have played.
I'm hoping at least Didak has a shocker.
It'll be close again for me this week. I've lost twice this season 36pts and 26pts.

Going to be close Clackerz. Hows the oppositions team looking for next week, any guns. I'm glad Brennan fired up and worked out well for you. If Mitch Clark is out for a few weeks with a quad Brennan will get more of a run in the centre which could boost his scores.

Re: Split round - hows everyone going
Yeah it'll be close.....for sure.
He's still got:
Grimes (as do I)
Drummond (out)
Milburn
Broughton (as do I)
Ablett (capt) - (As do I)
Bartell (as do I)
N.Jones
J.McVeigh
Skippy
Chapman
Didak
Sidebottom
I still have (inc.those listed above)
Mattner
Mackie
J.Selwood
If Skippy doesn't play then his replacement will be Ziebell.
Buddy and Roughy will kill me this week.....
I'm not sure on what to do now with this weeks trades (was going to do Rich>NDS) but with Warren & Ziebell (pending scans) will be out for a while. It maybe time to offload JZ - but he'll drop a bit with his 10 this week.

please don't get picked: -
let down: Franklin, Ziebell, Fisher and Tippet to a certain extent.

I'm happy the way my season is going. Had a few injuries which leaves me with 10 trades left. Currently sitting at 10,000 out of the entire 337,000. Was up to 5,000 until i had injuries left, right and centre. Still aiming for top 3,000 though.

Re: Split round - hows everyone going
Score so far: 1370 (14 played - captain is GAJ) vs 1230 (15 played, captain has played)
Please get picked: GAJ
please don't get picked: Greg Broughton (emergency for the opposition)
let down: Buddy Franklin
thank god i bought you in this week: Jason Gram- thanks Roachie, great tip! 98 points, cost 363K.
not another injury: Mitch Clark (leg, muscle tightness) - hopefully will be ok after week off. Have M Brown, T Walker on bench anyway.
Sitting 27th overall, 100K in the kitty, down to 4 trades though so plan is to sit tight till finals time. Like most I have been hit hard by injuries mainly to my Backline :- Waite, Hodge, Cornes, Raines. Glad I traded Ziebell out last week.

Re: Split round - hows everyone going
Thanks boys - made some rookie mistakes (first year in this comp) so learning alot as I go as I imagine everyone is. I will never underestimate the importance of having solid bench players again, so when the guns get injured ( 2-3 week injuries) you have backup thus saving trades. Best advice I got was to pick Ablett & Cox as your first 2 players, then build your team around that. Next advice was to make Ablett captain every week because he never lets you down.He maybe over 700k but what he scores every week when captain is what 4 good players combined score so well worth the money.

Just a figure of speech willim, I hope i didn't offend anyone. I guess what i am trying to say is that 27th overall is just awesome in my opinion.
Sorry for the poorly chosen words.

Yeah thanks for heads up on Brennan - he wasn't on my radar, but glad I took him up.

Re: Split round - hows everyone going
Well I ended up going down by 27pts
That's 2 in a row I've dropped (and a total of 3).
Still - I'm not gonna panic - (yet). The team needs a little work on it still, but will look at it week by week.
This week I'll take focus down fwd with both Warren and JZ with LTI's and only Schoenmakers to fill in. Time to relieve the team of JZ me thinks - thanks for the $ anyway!

Re: Split round - hows everyone going
I ended up winning by about 300. Thornton and Nathan Brown pulling out gave him 1 donut (1 started the other the emergency - in split rounds you never select emergencies that play in the 2nd week, you just never know - same with captains) and also Ablett only having an ok game (for him anyway). O'keefe, Dal Santo (good decision to trade for Haselby) Hurn and Adcock came through with the goods this week but my decision to bench Rich and go with Muston was a DOH moment. Playing the last placed guy in my league this week so will probably hold tight, although Hodge is looking tempting.
