1. PGA Championship at Whistling Straits — Tiger Woods drew the big crowds, but it was Martin Kaymer, Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson who provided the drama.

Johnson suffered a two-stroke penalty on the 18th hole when he grounded his club in a bunker, finishing two shots out of the playoff.
Kaymer eventually out-lasted Watson in a three-hole playoff to win the Wanamaker Trophy.
2. Bucyrus 200 presented by Menards at Road America — The NASCAR Nationwide Series took over Road America in June, drawing large crowds to the four-mile road course.
Carl Edwards captured the poll and the checkered flag in the No. 60 Fastenal Ford, surviving a red flag stoppage and winning by 4.302 seconds over Ron Fellows.
3. Sam Dekker verbally commits to UW — The 6'7" Dekker accepted a full-scholarship from Bo Ryan the summer before his junior year of high school.
So far this season, he's lived up to the hype, averaging 30.2 points, 12 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.8 blocks per game in leading the Crusaders to a 8-1 record and a ranking as high as No. 2 in Division 5.
On Dec. 29 he poured in 52 in the championship game of the Lake Country Lutheran Invite, nailing a half-court shot at the buzzer in regulation to force overtime.
4. Connor Stengel wins state championship — Stengel won the Division 1 400-meter dash by one-hundredth of a second, breaking the school-record of 48.77 he set in sectionals with a time of 48.24.
His championship is believed to be the first by a North or South male athlete since 1989.
5. South boys make it to sectionals — For the first time in 27 years, South makes it to Oshkosh in back-to-back seasons, knocking off rival Sheboygan North on the way in the regional final for the second straight year, this time 50-48.
The Redwings upset top-seeded Oshkosh North 66-60 in the semifinals before falling to Neenah a night later.
6. Oostburg girls finish state runner-up — Lisa Immel has proven she's no slouch on the sidelines, taking the Flying Dutchmen to state in each of her first two seasons.
